Role playing is actually quite simple. All you need is good typing skills and a little emagination.
Role plays are usually done in either 1st or 3rd person.
~
1st - I went down to the lake, and looking at my reflection, I jumped back.~
~
3rd - Dribblestone went down to the lake, and seeing his reflection, jumped back.~
See the difference? In this particulair role play, everything* should be done in
3rd person, the same as in the real warrior books. It gets easier as you write more.
For this role play, you are a cat of the wild. The first step is to design yourself, by going to "
creat a cat". You can start at any age - kit, warrior, elder..and any statis** - medicine cat, deputy, leader... (More details on making your cat in the "
create a cat" section.) Once you have a cat, you are just fox-lenghts away from role playing.
Now's the time to choose a Clan. These clans are not the same as Thunderclan, Windclan, Riverclan, Shadowclan, or even Starclan (although, Dreamclan is pretty close...). Each of the new clans have their own territories, special abilities, exciting pasts, and most importantly, new
cats. Read through the clans carefully, as it will be your home, your family... Once you have chosen your Clan, go sign your cat up under "regestered cats of
insert clan name here" (Info on how to do so and more will be under those sections.)
You are now ready to start role playing!!! Don't forget, this involves others aswell. Thats the best part - you never know which way the storie will go. You could set up a trap to attack another clan, just to have it backfire on you! Since others are reading your cat's life as well, you need to be carefull of how much information you want to give away. (Don't worry, you will most likely not call an attack on another clan, therefor it will most likely not backfire on you.)**
Now, that you are ready, read through the story (if there is one) so far. Once you're up to date with what's happening, you can post your first chapter! These can be as long as you want - just not so long it won't fit on the computer screen! Each person will have to read this before they can write, so try and keep it under 1000 words, at least. For instance, the most common lenght for a post (at a time) would be this paragraph that you are reading right now, though, sometimes, people (including myself..hehe) will keep going and going and going.... If your so into it that you just can't stop, that GREAT!The whole point of a role play is to write, right?
Remember that your story has to fit in with everyone elses. That is to say, don't write about how your leader, Pebblestar just gave you moss duty, when the chapter before you someone has writen that Twigstar just lost another life. Each person in the same clan must follow one and other's stories - be one, be
warriors.
You are ready now to go forth and write, but please read through every part of this section (
Getting Started). Now create a cat and play!
*Excepting when talking to one and other - see "rules" for details.
